Chef Nonna Raffaella is sharing her recipes for babies and toddlers in the newly released book “Real Food for Infants and Toddlers!”
Chef Raffaella was born, raised and educated in the region of Campagna Italy. A graduate of the Istituto Tecnico Economico in Salerno Italy, she was married while in Italy and emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 26.
Early in life she was exposed to gardening and cooking spending hours in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother. As the oldest of 4 children she watched her mother making her sisters and brother’s infant and toddler foods fresh from their garden.
Following the birth of her first child, shortly after arriving in the U.S., Raffaella created infant and toddler foods for her child in the same way she watched her mother preparing them – with fresh ingredients which were minimally processed.
As a result of her strong roots, Raffaella remains a strong advocate of making baby food at home, avoiding commercial over processing which occurs at high temperatures while destroying vitamins and minerals. Additionally, Raffaella’s guiding principle is to know exactly what you are feeding your baby and to know how it was prepared.
Raffaella lives in RI with her husband, two daughters, sons-in-law and 3 grandsons where she continues preparing meals each day for her family.
You can meet Raffaella from her kitchen in Rhode Island on December 5th, 2020 where she will demonstrate many of the recipes in the book and will host a live discussion about cooking for and feeding infants and toddlers.
During her class, Raffaella will also offer time saving and preparation tips and will be available for a special question and answer session as well.
