Sunday September 5th, 2021!
Depart Chicago O’Hare (or your local airport) for Naples Italy!
Monday September 6th: Arrive in Naples around noon – time zone is 7 hours ahead of Central Time.
Once we have retrieved our luggage, our comfortable Motor coach awaits and takes us to our hotel by the sea in the city of Naples. Following check-in at our hotel, we will enjoy an authentic Neapolitan pizza lunch at a small trattoria – a short walk from the hotel.
After our pizza lunch, take a little time to settle in and relax. Enjoy dinner on your own (or in small groups) at one of the local sea front trattorias easily walkable on the lungomare (traffic free promenade for walking.)
Tuesday September 7th: Following our elegant leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the City Center of Naples, famous Via Toledo street with its coffee bars, shops, and Neapolitan street food. Once we have enjoyed the city center, we will take the Funiculare to the gorgeous Vomero neighborhood perched at the top of Naples to enjoy the neighborhood that few tourists visit.
In the evening, dinner is on your own in Vomero, or at one of the many trattorias on the lovely seafront right next to our hotel.
Travel By Sea to the Island of Capri
Wednesday September 8th: Following another elegant and leisurely breakfast at the hotel we will board a hydrofoil ship at the bay of Naples. We’ll spend a day on the unforgettable island of Capri!
Enjoy a late lunch on the island of Capri and dinner in Naples at night!
Our Motorcoach Awaits as We Depart for the Amalfi Coast
Thursday September 9th: After checking out of our hotel, our motor coach is ready for us (mid-morning) as we depart for the Amalfi coast. The Ferrara family awaits us at the charming and exquisite Hotel San Francesco on the sea. Soon after you arrive you will know for sure that you are experiencing authentic Italy, And, in wonderful accommodations on the sea!
A walking tour of this charming small seaside town.
Once we are settled in, we will take a short walk to the city center to orient ourselves to the lovely little town. Take a little time to become acquainted with the small shops and points of interest. Perhaps stop for a cappuccino. After this tour you will feel completely at home on the coast.
Each night, a specially prepared four course dinner with local wine will be served in the elegant dining room at the hotel. Dinners together are always filled with sharing of stories, photos and new friendships.
Friday September 10th: Following our leisurely breakfast on the terrace or the elegant dining room (your choice) our motor coach awaits for our visit to the ancient cities of Ravello and Amalfi. In other words, another spectacular day awaits!
At night, a specially prepared four course dinner is served in the beautiful dining room at the hotel.
Free Day – Choose an Optional Tour or Relax
Saturday September 11th: Free day to relax, shop or for optional tours to Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, or another Amalfi Coast town. Following your day of sightseeing or just relaxing, we will come together again at night to enjoy our four course specially prepared group dinner and local wine at the hotel.
An Elegant Day in the Countryside With “LaFamiglia” – My Family
Sunday September 12th: Following our leisurely breakfast in the morning we will travel by motor coach to the countryside of the Campagna region. Upon arrival we will visit the ancient Villa of the D’Angelo family (your hosts’ family) enjoy coffee in true Italian style with “la famiglia.”
Adding to the already memorable experience, we will spend the rest of the day at a picturesque Agritourismo where we will enjoy typical all day “pranzo” (meaning long lunch.) Return to Naples in the evening. You will not want dinner after our all day pranzo.
Walk of the Lemons, The Cake Boss and Celebratory Dinner
Guided “Walk of the Lemons” high above the city visit the “Cake Boss” (as seen recently in Stanley Tucci’s Italy special) in the little town of Minori. The afternoon is free. In the evening, fully enjoy our group celebratory dinner at the hotel.

Tuesday September 14th: Although we may hate to part, we must leave for the Naples airport in the morning only to promise to return again in the future. I guarantee, you will take with you more than souvenirs but a new perspective on a life well lived!

As of this writing, roundtrip airfare cost is roughly $1100.00 coach and fully refundable! This is through United/Lufthansa. Due to airline pricing, there is no guarantee what it will be tomorrow but these prices should last at least a couple of weeks.
A $500.00 deposit holds your spot. Final payment on August 1st leaving enough time to ensure no issues with travel.

This is not a trip where we will be up at dawn, looking at tourist attractions all day and returning at night exhausted. We will fully experience authentic Italy at a pace allowing us to absorb the beauty, culture, food and the people while enjoying the Italian lifestyle.
With that being said, Italians walk, and we will be walking a lot. Streets in Italy are not smooth and paved, escalators do not exist, may times there are steps.
We will not be taking taxis. In fact, they are rare on the Amalfi Coast. Experiencing another country as Italy requires to live like a local.
If you are not a fan of walking this likely is not the trip for you.
