Plant-Based Nutritionist Carol Amendola D’Anca

If you are not familiar with where to find a plant based nutritionist near you (or maybe not near you these days as everything is availabe with technology) I would like to introduce you to the Plant Based Doctors website.  This site offers a myriad of information regardless if you are looking for a plant-based nutritionist, physician, coach, chiropractor, or other wellness option.

Is it surprising that interest in plant-based diets has grown exponentially?

While it’s not surprising that millions of people are looking for solutions outside of the typical “here’s a prescription for that,” I am thrilled with the exponential growth of interest that has evolved. Perhaps it’s because we are finally seeing solid research backed information on the benefits of plant-based diets and, maybe more importantly, we are learning the downsides of poor dietary choices.

An eye opening study published last year in the Lancet.

Here’s just a snippet of information from a global study on the loss of life from wrong dietary choices. Note, we are not talking about starvation from lack of food. In all cases on this study it’s about the wrong choices of food.

Findings

In 2017, 11 million deaths were attributable to dietary risk factors. High intake of sodium, low intake of whole grains, and low intake of fruits were the leading dietary risk factors for deaths and DALYs globally. Do you find this fact astounding! I certainly do.  If interested, read the full text article here.
As I was mentioning to a client this week, eating a plant-based diet is not about deprivation, it’s about enjoying wonderfully fresh flavors of seasonal foods.  You might be surprised at how much you can enjoy a broader selection of flavors.  I offer almost 100 of recipes on my website that are Mediterranean inspired and delicious! Give them a try, And, check out Plant Based doctors here as well.
