How to Improve Your Nutrition With Olive Oil
With the arrival of fall and harvest season around the world, this month’s ‘Longevity Tip’ focuses on olive oil at harvest time and a way to improve your nutrition with olive oil that’s actually good for you.
I want the readers of “Longevity Tips” to have the same unique understanding about how to access olive oil that’s rich in nutrients and taste.
Right now, in southern Italy, small scale olive producers of extra virgin olive oil are meticulously examining their olive crop for a level of ripeness which produces the highest levels of anthocyanins (a type of antioxidant) providing not only great taste but proven health benefits of EVOO.
Only educated buyers and small vendors understand what it takes to produce EVOO of this quality. They also understand there will be less of it again this year due to changes in climate and they are going to buy most of it.
As Master of Clinical Nutrition and someone who has studied olive oil extensively for the last 10 years, I’m letting you know there’s a simple way to elevate your nutrition with high polyphenol, high nutrient olive oil that’s different from what’s in the grocery store, or most retail outlets due to poor handling, mislabeling, missing harvest dates and more.
There’s a better option
A small grower in the south of Italy, Deliba, is going to accept pre-orders for this fall’s harvest taking place in October and again in November and will ship it directly to you.
Deliba EVOO is always consistently high quality whenever it’s purchased, and its harvests sell out. But getting in on a new harvest is rare. You can learn more about olive oil in general and how to pre-order from the first harvests here.
The health and medical benefits are proven by good science and too long to list here. I’ll include them in another “Longevity Tips. ”
For now, here’s a link to a video about high quality olive oil where I have many more educational videos.
That’s it for now but with a quick mention I’ll soon be in Italy leading a wonderful group excursion to the Blue Zone of longevity in Sardinia, followed by a personal visit to the Deliba farm in Calabria Italy.
I’m not just writing about the farm, but I’m going to the farm. When I tell you my information is firsthand and confirmed by science I’m not kidding!
