With this time of year as the busiest for baking and “sweets consumption” I decided to do a little research to check out the latest and greatest on making delicious desserts for the holidays. Dr. Greger does a nice analysis of just about everything available for cooking, baking and adding to drinks. I was pleased to see that the healthiest option is the one I use almost exclusively in recipes. Check out his video with the link below. It’s pretty interesting.
I’m also checking out one other that Dr. Greger doesn’t compare but it’s in the news more often these days. It’s coconut palm sugar which has a low glycemic index (35) but is mostly sucrose which is mainly table sugar. This doesn’t quite add up but I’ll continue the quest. Enjoy the video!
