I spent two years (2002 – 2004) researching trans fat and it’s effects on health. It was the topic for my master’s thesis and it fit well with my interest in heart disease. It’s a metabolic disaster and should be COMPLETELY OUTLAWED.
At the time of my writing legislation was passed and on January 1st 2006 trans fat was supposedly outlawed from our food supply. Little did we know about his loophole. Read on (see link) and avoid this food additive at all costs! If the word
hydrogenated is anywhere on the label it has trans fat even if the label says 0 trans fat. How do you like that for labeling loopholes?
